you are hard pressed to fit two tracks under the said overbirdges.
a new retaining wall was just constructed between chatwood and artarmon to
replace the old concrete structure that needed steel supports for the
catenary. only one track would fit between the existing line, and the wall.
(there is an embankment on the other side.

[btw i do not live any where west of strathfield, and do not want to
criticise the building of the p'matta-chatswood link, or any platforms
associated.]

| Overbridges including Thomas St, Mowbray Road, River Road, Bridge End
(both
| the old one and the new one) are all built to span four tracks.  Even the
| relatively-new Gore Hill freeway passes under a bridge built for the four
| tracks planned re-1924!
