A miscellaneous collection of narrow gauge tank wagons was numbered in the 7900 range. I think they were all privately owned, but have been unable to confirm this as being the reason for creating this unique number range. Some of the tanks seem to have run with unusual classifications which were later changed to fit into the commonwealth classification system
