RF Flat Wagon

RF 1347

Port Augusta Workshops contructed a 6 wheel bogie 70 tons flat wagon in 1956 for use carrying out of gauge and heavy items. The vehicle itself was out of gauge and was only permitted to run between Port Augusta and Parkeston, being diverted to avoid passenger and goods platforms and cattle loading ramps. It was classified "RF" and allocated road number 1347.

This vehicle was known as the "heavy lift" wagon and would not pass the passenger platform at Marree.
