Your definition supports your argument.  That doesn't make your argument valid.

Showing a conductor a ticket is no different to sticking it in a machine.

What you should be complaining about is the fact that the conductors are there
to help people who don't know how to get where they are going, don't know what
sort of ticket they need, etc.

It is just laziness that stops people from validating, yet they come up with the
crappy excuses to try to justify their laziness. A lot of people don't like
being told what to do, and I'd say that is another hidden reason why people
don't validate. It's their way of getting their own way, or protesting,
whatever.
