So that's why the announcements are made so precisely- just when the doors
open!

SPIes installed in signal boxes (Blacktown, Granville, Sutherland, Sydenham)
are
connected to the track circuits which trigger the announcements at when the
train
gets to a certain point.  The down side of this is that if a train is
cancelled,
and the SPI is not updated, the rest of the trains for the day are one train
out.
