Re: New Yard at Camberwell Station

The contract was for three sidings each holding two six car trains and
all the draniage, CCTV, fences, design, construction etc. There new
yards I know of around Melbourne are:

Burnley - 3 sidings each with 2 trains
Camberwell - 3 sidings each with one train
Baswater - 3 sidings each with one train and a light repair centre
Westall - not sure but has a light repair centre

They are all for overnight and off peak staibling

Flem Races - four trains off peak (day time) only.

There is also a new system to be installed to track all metro trains
around Melbourne this will help with sending trains to the light repair
centres. Metro will move to the PTC building in Burnley. All this
system of yards and stuff is all to be completed by mid 1998. I have
all the timings for finishing each part. This is all part of getting
rid of the yards at Flinders Street.

They also say on the list of changes that the direction of the Burnley
loop will change. I realy don't know if that part is right or not.
