Well, many of the London suburbs must be among the most vandal-prone
spots on the planet. The NE is even worse. There, even the
return-current bonds get nicked along with signalling cables.

However, the DOO cameras and mirrors seem to escape. Perhaps they're
made of some super-strength materials but they do seem to have defied
the vandals. Or maybe they do get trashed but replaced very quickly.

The DOO cameras and screens are mounted on poles and housed in huge,
heavy boxes which could not be removed without specialist gear.

For DOO on trains more than 2 cars long, surely big mirrors or CCTV
must be needed if the platform curves the "wrong" way - unless there
are extra staff to oversee station work.

Cheers,
