So you plan on reducing the loading gauge then? A mirror would need to be at
least 150mm to be of any use, probably more on the right hand saide, given
that the driver is on the left. So, lets say 200mm.

That reduces your loading gauge to 350mm (based on your 750mm above) - it is
not a lot of room between two trains travelling at speed.
