Bottom line is if they can save forty million dollars a year they will
throw 10 times that much at it to get it .
Just have a look at NR they are throwing MILLIONS of dollars at
getting DOO for a saving of somewhere in the vicinity of 1 million
dollars a year what they continually overlook is that if something as
simple as a train comes apart then it will take hours to get it going
again if procedures are followed .
Then have the Toll train delayed like this two or three times a month
and what are they going to do they are going to say goodbye NR we will
move our stuff with a RELIABLE operator one whom has two men on the
loco!!
With NR DOO has gone from a want to a need and it is now a holy grail
My comments are not those of my employer
