Actually, I am informed by a current NRC Driver that the speed across the
Wagga Viaduct was 80 km/h up until about two years ago, (I operated over it
during the gauge conversion period and it was 80k's), however the speed is
still 80km/h over the viaduct (I am told), but the speed over the box girder
section is currently 20km/h. Needless to say, whilst David was talking in
the past so was I.

Now lets finish this to-ing and fro-ing, and state the facts, if a Driver
does excessive speed he will be disaplined.

NRC have even disaplined a driver for being 2km/h over the speed. Yes 2
KM?H. It was through Keswick Station back about 3 years ago, he was accused
of being 10 K's over the speed by an AN Porter when they cut the Chart
(Tape) the NR Specialist Driver mis read the distances, so he wrote the crew
up. After the union intervened the chart was re read and it was found that
the actual speed fluctuated between 10 and 14 km/h, so they picked 12km/h as
the average and he was verbally interveiwed by the Driver in Charge and told
that his speed was 20% above the limit, slapped on the wrist and told not to
do it again.

Now if they ball you out for 2 km/h what would they do for 25 km/h??????

Bob
