Clyde/GM G8's and G12's (was: [VIC] A66 & A60 should be preserved)

The VR 1st series T class was a Clyde/GM G8 Bo-Bo locomotive. The QR 1400 class
was similar in appearance to the VR 1st series T, except it was a A1A-A1A G12.
The 1450 (Clyde/GM G12R) class was an improved version of the 1400. This was a
Co-Co locomotive and the main visible difference was the longer hoods. BHP had
two G8's as well as several G12's for use on their South Australian iron ore
railways. Except for the last two units, these looked similar to the VR T class
and had a Bo-Bo wheel arrangement. Australian Portland Cement at Fyansford
purchased a Bo-Bo G8 and this later became T413. The NSWGR 49 class is a G8,
but it is similar to the second series T class, ie: it has a high cab. It is
also slightly longer and it has a Co-Co wheel arrangement.
