: You mean that it isn't yet??

In theory No.1A is for a movement out of No.14 platform to Spencer Street.
No.9A is the only way to get from the City Circle, Burnley, Northern and
Caulield viaducts to No.12 platform. It is also used from the through
suburban viaduct to No.12 Platform from passenger trains, and straigh
through for goods (opps, freight) trains.

It is interesting to note that signal 946 (movement from Through Suburban
to No.10 Platform) shows stop and medium speed warning only. In theory
it should also show clear medium speed for a movement along platform 10
to platform 12 (ie signal 948 is off).

: Also, are all the signals through the old yards still Home signals? They
: don't protect anything now, do they?

: After 16 years the "A" lights might actually get to shine some light for a
: while (until they swing the main signal heads over to be automatic and remove
: them)

Why do they provide illuminated "A" at places like East Richmond, South
Kensington, North Melbourne, Richmond Junction (I think they are still
some from the old 'E' box area), Spencer Street?
So they ever "light up"?
