Oh no... long delays and point failures :P

Not such a bad idea.. now all they have to do is arrange a timetable to make that
operate correctly.

The VT100 could be operated from Greensborough. Trains very rarely terminate at
Heidelberg. If they did, they could arrange the system like they did with Fairfield,
and the Train Controller at Metrol could insert the TDN himself at Heidelberg.

As long as he gets it right.. the TDN system has a few faults, one being that if NO
number is provided at train entry point, it assumes the next available number from the
outstation.

A goods from Fairfield was not given a number one morning after Clifton Hill was
transferred to Metrol.
Fairfield informed Metrol, no number was given, and when the points at Fairfield were
set Normal, the train with no number assumed the next Up number from Heidelberg.

They only worked it out when he refused to enter the City Loop :)

IMHO, they are creating a rod for their own backs.

They should provided access from the Down line to he Up platform at Heidelberg (the
points are still there, just put motors on them..)

They haven't happened, and are unlikely to for quite a while.
Sandringham has had Metrol numbering for a long time.. but it never happened..
