Re: Metrol & Heidelberg

: The points are still in place as at 27/9. At the up end, the signal mast
: remains from Dwarf 19, the head is gone. At the down end, the dwarf is removed.

: Is Heidelberg getting a local panel, or is it going to Metrol?

Local Panel like Ringwood (ie CBI)

It will have some automation of the single line between Heidelberg
and Rosanna Junction, like the single line between Bunyip and Longwarry

That is a first there first through, but the sections are designed
so that an up train doesn't have to wait for a down train.
(ie up trains set up the single line 7km before, but down trains only
3km before, this is provided that the signle line is clear.)

With automation like this then there doesn't realy need to be anyone
controlling things, expect to put the train numbers into the vt100
for Metrol.

Trains cross at Heidelberg or Rossana, so the single line would have
to be set up so that the correct train gets to go first. Wait and
see what happens.

They might provide a future control from Metrol like Caulfield and Bell.
