Re: Metrol & Heidelberg & Train Describer Numbers.

Doesn't all the signal boxes with in the Metrol area (ie the fringe boxes,
Upfield, Epping, Heidelberg, Burnley, Caulfield, Sandringham, Newport,
Sunshine and Kensington, and any signal box within that area, Brighton Beach and
Bell) have the metrol numbering system of points and signals?

Also any other box which has been changed since the early 1980's, like
Ringwood (and Bayswater), Lilydale (and Mooroolbark), Blackburn, Box Hill
Mordialloc, Dandenong (new panel replacing power frame)

Places like Burnley, Brighton Beach, Sandringham, South Kensington have
just been re-numbered.

Heidelberg, Kensington, West Footscray have metrol numbers but in the field
they are still the old numbers.

One more thing about Metrol Numbering for lines like Belgrave an even signal
number eg 300, is a down signal, but for lines like Werribee an even signal
number eg 700 is an up signal.

Could this be simplified to signals for the east direction (ie Dandenong,
Frankston, Sandringham, Belgrave, Lilydale, Alamein, Glen Waverley, Hurstbridge
and Epping) have even as down signals while for the west direction (ie Upfield,
Broadmeadows, St.Albans, Werribe and Williamstown) have even as up signals.

Or signals for a train heading east will be even, while signals for a train
heading west will be odd. (Lines like Epping and Upfield require a little
twisting for east and west.)
