On the same theme, Puffing Billy passengers seem to prefer to travel in the
traditional open NBH excursion carriages to the few which have been
modified by enclosing with glass, even in winter and even when it is pouring
with rain!

Unfortunately, some railfans, including some at Puffing Billy, do not
appreciate how important heritage is, in all its aspects, not simply steam
upfront, to the travelling GP. It is the full heritage experience that
they are looking for. Hence heritage carriages, if they can be obtained, or
wooden replicas otherwise, would seem to be worth the investment if the new
steam tourist operator at Kurandra wants to maximize their chance of
success.
