Both the Ls and ELs are SG , and there is nothing wrong at all with the ELs , 
being an essentially new loco.
The Ls are simply old (1968 vintage) but apart from some failed dynamic 
braking grids there isnt much wrong with them either.
The Ls would make good candidates for rebuild using the 710G3A engine and 
bigger D87B series traction motors.
ELs arnt GM but GE , Ls are GM.
I would have thought that Freightcorp would also have some spare 80s and 422s 
if they havnt been already sold.
Frieghtcorp of course may not wish to lease locos to a competitor.
NRC also I beleive have some stored DLs , and the Cs of course.
