I believe the term CBI is being used by the PTC so as to avoid inferring
specific systems in the tenders. Of course Ringwood isn't getting an SSI,
it's getting a Westrace. Instead of 3 processors thinking once, one
processor thinks twice, or something like that. SSI is available from
either Alstom or Westinghouse, Westinghouse also make Westrace, Adtranz has
Ebilock, Union Switch & Signal has Microlock, Alstom (who now own GRS) also
has VPI....

SSI's (Solid State Interlocking) have been installed in Victoria at:
Epping
Clifton Hill
South Kensington
Dandenong
Caulfield
Newport
Sunshine

Westrace's have been installed at Sunbury, and are contracted to be
installed at Ringwood, Heidelburg and Broadmeadows.

Anybody know whats going on with the Flinders St Resignalling? The Relay
Room for the East end of Flinders St is in the 2nd Floor of the Metrol
Building, which is to be demolished a/c Federation Square. I heard a rumour
that Alstom was going to use an SSI, but have seen nothing published.
