Re: Train Accident in Blue Mountains

Al right , this will seem naieve!!

If there was a stationary IP , and indeed that seems the case...how in gods name was a city rail train enabled to
proceed at approaching running speed (well it was obviously slowing prior to impact, and it still hit at near 50k , so
we're told).
To any who know that stretch or rail...how far back is the next signal of consequence??

It seems that as the IP was blind to the Interurban until the "shit factor" takes hold...how was the IU even allowed to
be so close??

Again apologies for naievity...but it just seems incredible!!
Amnot laying any blame.at all on anyone..indeed it seems like the driver dod all in his power once he realised what was
about to happen.

These are obviously the very points that a formal investigation will cover..but Im curious.
Im also sad for the families and this unfortunate ocurrance, especially so close to Christmas.
Makes you appreciate every day a little more!!
How many accidents forthe IP is that now in recent times?

no cheers this time >:~(( Richard
