The 1pm news here (when it is 11am in Sydney) also reported six dead,
and had a live interview with a passenger from the front carriage of the
Cityrail train who said the driver came leaping out of the cab yelling
to the passengers to "get down."  He said the train skidded along the
tracks (one assumes with the brakes full on) before running up the back
of the IP.

Does that line have train-stop-arms to stop electric trains that pass
through a stop signal?
