On this subject, look at the NRC's record of selling any of its assets- Nil.
They never ever sell any of their rolling stock, not so much as set of
bogies.

Whoever buys NR may have a different policy.

Wouldn't it be good to see one of those monsters preserved in working order.

If FA has X35 then I'm sure that a company like them would have done their
homework in wanting to rebuild it, rather it may be easier to build a new
locomotive from the ground up using new and old components than having to
gut a locomotive then rebuild it.
