Locos in steam (was Re: SteamRanger in steam [was Re: NSW steam loco boilers])

Pichi Richi also had 5 in steam back in 1987(?), admittedly with help from Port
Dock's Peronne:
T186, W933, W934, SMC1, Peronne.  There's a photo around, which I will try and
put on the PRR site at some stage.

Also, do the 400 class Garratts count for the last SAR steam?  From memory,
they were used in the early 70's on the last of the 3'6" from Pt Pirie to
Broken Hill while the 830's were gauge converted.
Can't remember numbers (I hadn't been born), but I reckon most were still
trafficable, and thrashed a fair bit <grin>.
