Perhaps I should have said that the form of democracy we have in New South
Wales dictates the points I made. If we were living in Switzerland perhaps
we would have been given a chance to make our preferences known. As it is we
had a government of one persuasion who "inflicted" the games upon us and a
government of the other persuasion who has had to prepare and present the
games.

IMHO the result of the referendum would have been the same result. Long live
the games of the XXVII Olympiad!!!
