The Camberwell tram is really the Gardiner to City tram that also goes north and
feeds the Camberwell shopping precinct and Camberwell station - from both north
and south sides. A case of a tram that feeds from a local area similar to what
East Burwood does not and could do a lot better when/if it is extended to Knox or
Ferntree Gully.

This of course has been said before in a great many places. We are going down the
English path (we do have the architect of the pathetic English system working for
our govt) and it will be a nightmare. Have you been following the news from UK
regarding their privatisation. Only one lot of winners - the investors. The
public think that they have won because there are more trains but in fact there
is no capability for traffic fluctuations, and then the complaints about
overcrowding start.
