I know its a picky point, but the Y2K problem is a millenium problem. Even
1210 was not around for the last time a millenium ticked over.

In any case, have you seen the hi-tech mechanical lubrication system on
1210? None of your string and cork drip feed on this baby! No doubt there's
a microprocessor or three in there ticking away.

As for 3801, with all the question marks over valve-gear reversion and new
piston software, I recommend that the machine be rebooted immediately after
the calendar ticks over. This will reduce 3801's availability to clear
Tangaras from Circular Quay on 01/01/00. Anyone who has ever had to reboot a
steamer will tell you its a lengthy process.
