 Yes I know what you mean, they sacked a third of their staff, reduced
wages, then fell foul of the punitive
clauses, as well as Safety issues, earning pretty hefty fines, and had to go
out and beg the poor buggers they sacked to come back and drive their
trains. Most were safely away in new jobs and told them to bugger off!
Others got heavy pay rises to attract them back...or so goes the English
Union News we get here.

WC in Victoria did not want to run intrastate freight...they would have
closed 60 % of it down.

FV are committed to Intrastate, and already have cancelled services past
Port Agusta and Goulburn [proposed]
They are committed to growing rail freight, and Marinus has warned Road
Operators that they are going to hurt.
