Some Taits had a special car with a compartment at one end, very similar in
appearance to a Drivers end.
The double doors could be opened wide enough to admit several prams, or
wheel chairs.
the doors were marked with a large white ring [O] and were called 'Ringers"
I seem to remember, that a long padded bench was provided along the back
wall, and of course there was plenty of room as the Guards seat and Drivers
cab were missing.
Certain trains running at Off Peak were always advertised as having pram
accomadation.
