Very true. There are a number of level crossing in Brisbane that are
protected by flashing lights, boom gates AND traffic lights integrated into
the system. It is very rare to see a car go through these level crossings as
soon as the booms raise. People don't seem to realise that flashing level
crossing lights bear exactly the same authority as a red traffic light.
