 ie a memory chip, althouth 'Smart Cards' (of which a GSM SIM is one
type of) now can also carry microprocessors as well.

 Group Special Mobile (In french - I cant spell english properly,
let alone french.) There are so many francophobes about that some
how the name got mutated into english. It annoys me every time I
see it.
 The ITU ( and the CCITT ) before it, always named and documented in
French.
