Re: Granville Train Disaster (and its memory)

Tony,

I think you missed my point as well a Russ's we do not have a problem with
items of this nature being posted on a rail enthusiasts newsgroup if they are
legitimate and informative links but some of us who are involved in the
industry think it is a bit off posting crap(which is all this link was) at this
point in time(anniversary of the disaster),or for that matter anytime!.

I think Russ's point was in light of events recently south of Campbelltown, do
you think it would be appropriate to post a URL that links to video of the
police officer being run over on a police newsgroup.

As far as my ghoulish curiosity - As I wrote in my second posting, I am
genuinely interested in this sort of thing when it offers genuine insights into
things of this nature.

As far as changing the name goes - I found it then lent a certain amount of
credibility to an otherwise fairly tasteless item, Which is why I went back
into that site to see if I had got it wrong.

As far as photos about signal boxes involved in Hoddle St. it would depend in
what context(ie a train going past etc. but if you had photos taken from the
signal box with photos of chalk outlines or dead bodies, I would then have to
question the legitimacy of such articles as items of interest for this type of
news group).

I just believe we shouldn't encourage half wits such as these to post crap like
this on this newsgroup, but if it is historically beneficial material, I
believe most people wouldn't have a problem with it.

And I not only see in black and white, but also greyscale and millions of
colours!
