I'd agree, except for trips from one end of the CBD to the other, where even
taking into account the extra walking to the train, the train would be
faster (eg Parliament to Spencer Street in the morning, or back the other
way in the evening).

The trams on Collins and Bourke Streets *do* get very crowded at weekday
lunchtimes.
