Slight confusion on both posts.
The loop extensions on the NE,ie between Melb & Junee are 1500 M ,not 1800 M
,1800 M is reserved to west of Adelaide .
Rods list of loops is correct and for interest the rest are Gerogery,Yerong
Creek and Wagga north of the border.
Albury yard was supposed to be extended to 1500 M by lenghening the platform
road out beyong the road bridge at the northern end,but it hasnt happened for
some reason.
I cant comment on what trains are what length ,(NRCs SM5 / MS5 is always
pretty long but the 1300 M length is what is currently being run on the north
coast ,due mainly to the lesser number of long loops.
Does anyone have an update list of the north coast loops that have been
lenghthened?
All these loops are 1500 M or more except for Loadstone ,(dunno why ).
My last list included Wallarobba,Stroud Road,Bulliac,Killawarra,Johns River
Telegraph Pt,Kempsey,Melinga,Eungai,Boambee Beach,Kungala,Grafton,Lawrence Rd,
Rappville,Casino,Kyogle,Loadstone (1400 M),Glenapp and Bromelton.
This list is a bit old and there are bound to be more.
