Loadstone was only extended to 1500 meters as there was a level crossing at
the Northern end and an overbridge at the southern end and the money was not
there to either rebuild the bridge for two tracks at the southeren end where
there was also problems with the lay of the land and either build a under or
over bridge at the northern end. A Level Crossing in the middle of a
crossing loop is bad news and usally leads to political pressure that it not
be blocked so there goes your loop. There were problems with a level
crossinmg at the loop at Eungai in the Early 90s.

constraints, a level Crossing at The Northern end and a bridge at the
Southern End, though there some possibilities at the southern end I don not
think it would add much more than abouy 100 meters
