Re: [Melb] Tram Derailment

: Are the auto-points at this junction yet? My latest map (from the 1993
: Destination City) still shows them as manually operated which sounds
: logical given their use only for depot running. Surely drivers must be
: under instructions to slow to check that manual points are set in their
: favour?

At these points you will find a double yellow line from track to track
(ie not half length). This double yellow line means "Compulsory Stop"
the driver must stop here either end of track or points need to be checked.
There is a warning mark before the double yellow line, which I think is
a single yellow line.

I will soon add what all the other markings between the tram tracks are to
my website. Yellow circles either 1 or 2, and white ones and triangles
1/2 width double yellow lines and single lines etc....

Basically the 1/2 width ones are the clearence for trams (ie double is
B class and single is Z class, since A and W are shorter than Z they
just mark Z class) full width white line is fouling point.

Circles white, yellow and triangles mark the start (one) and end (two)
of things like cut off points, point changing, 'T' light activation.
The different shapes and colours are for pole trams, panto trams then
if the panto is at the front or back etc....
