But the signaller is not responsible for the maintenance of the system,
so he has no interest in maintaining it. Why doesn't operations take an
interest in the signalling?

Well I don't know how you're getting the pulsating aspects, but the LED
units we have use voltage regulators inside the unit (no adjustable) to
provide a steady indication (overvoltage & spike reduction). That's why
I don't believe you can have dimmers. However, my original point is
that the more highly focus LED units may have been installed.

From what I've seen the longer sighting distance LED units are
really only good for long distances (over 200m sighting)with a more
reduced side viewing (If you're held at them). If you don't need the
extra sighting distance, you shouldn't go to the extra expense of the
more focussed untis if you're only going to have drivers complain about
having to approach them (something I've never heard of.)

If the signalling engineers aren't made aware of your problems, how the
hell are they ever going to get fixed?

Seeya!
