Re: [NSW] Great Service City Rail

I notice that TransAdelaide was not mentioned..............

This can come down several things (why no complaints heard for CityTrain and
TransPerth)

* Attitude of the customer - I've noticed that people on the whole are more
relaxed in Perth, Brisbane and even (whispers) Melbourne. This could apply
to the staff as well (who of course are human). If people (staff and
customer alike) keep hearing about bad things (I'm looking in the
Terrorgraph's direction here), people tend to look for more for the problems
and see lass of the good stuff.

* Size of the systems - TransPerth's system (especially, but to a less
extent CityTrain) is smaller, newer and has less patronage. This will lead
to less complaints. The greater CityRail area combined with HS/BS (Mel)
would be bigger than the rest of the systems combined in Australia and this
is sometimes forgotten. Also (especially Perth), there are less routes and
less places for things to go wrong (so they don't).

* Geographically, WA is far away from the east coast (derr) and I have
noticed that while in Perth, events on the East Coast were rarely reported
in any detail (and vice versa while in Sydney).

There are lots more but these are the main ones. For the record, I have
travelled extensively on all the non Sydney systems and found no major
problems

| No, it ain't perfect, just before the privatisation we experienced

| This is not true either. I'm "satisfy" with our system, Hillside did a
| good job from my point of view, I have little or no complaints.

|
| Well if you really wanna see some hijack:
|
| I think Transperth and Citytrain maybe close to "perfect", so far I
| rarely (actually never) saw any complaint from Citytrain or Transperth
