Do you want to foot the *enormous* bill (ie. probably several hundred
million) to re-site the exchange? Most of the cost is not actual re-locating
the building and equipment it houses, but re-routing all of the cabling. 8-)

Westfield Properties wanted to get Telstra to move Miranda exchange when
there were extending the Westfield down here, but the cost to do so (Miranda
is the main exchange for the Sutherland Shire) would have far outweighed the
benefits.

I think that if the bus interchange had been designed better there could
have been allowance to build an extra platform on the back of platform one
(the real one, not the current one), but I expect to see something like
Epping with a three-track station, unless the offset island idea that
someone else mention is built, although that would create a very disjointed
station.

Craig.
