Melb train colours/schemes (Was: Hitachis - was Vinyl seats in Tangara carriage)

Hi,

I don't ever recall seeing a teacup liveried comeng :o( but do know in
photos they look really quite good. I do however remember the old seat
colours, both the yellow, or the deep red/blue looked quite good. Comeng
320M, as of about 12 months ago, still had the red/blue pads on one seat
(the disabled seat at the "number 2 end" of the car).

The hitachis also looked quite good with the green fabric on the seats.

What drugs was the person on, who brought in that horrible horrible, even
tragic covering used on the seat pads now? they look truly revolting.

finally i do remember the hitachi's before they were ruined by the
green/gold colour scheme. I guess with luck, as per my previous posting
below, when the Hitachi's are finally taken out and any sensible hysterical
society purchases one or two, we might see one in original condition once
again :)

Wonder if there are any regrets for not having a full Harris set preserved
(one of the most asbestos versions).

Regards
Michael
