Re: St Leonards, NSW

There is some room between Waverton & St. Leonards, but I must agree the
curves would be extremely tight.

If there were going ahead to quadruple the tracks between Waverton &
Chatswood, major works would be required at Waverton Station, a new
tunnel a Waverton, new road overbridges at Shirley Rd, River Rd & Ella
St, earthworks at Wollstonecraft & Artarmon Stations and a new rail
overbridge over Russell St, Wollstonecraft.

Also existing track arrangements might have to be altered at Artarmon
because most of the unused land between Waverton & Artarmon is located on
the Down side of the line, while after Artarmon station, the unused land
is located on the Up side.

Not impossible, but would cost lots of $$$$$.

The Overview Report book on the Chatswood - Parramatta Rail Link makes no
mention of upgrading or allowance for upgrading the North Sydney to
Chatswood section, but it has a lot of interesting traffic flow diagrams.
