Re: [Melb] Broadmeadows re-signalling

: For whatever reason, the Starting Signal into a DLB section is always
: a Two position signal.

: Somerton is an island of 3 Position Signalling, but the Starting
: Signal is again 2P. (And the Home off the Upfield Line, for that
: matter).

Somerton is a very wierd place, and that home from the Upfield line is
fixed and the calling-on is used for that movement.

: The last Up Home, protecting the Junction of the Albion line may
: disappear, it's always seemed a bit unneccessary to me. E 573 will
: need a illuminated '65' indicator, and Dwarfs seem to have a difficult
: time surviving resignalling. |-)

I didn't have room to draw the '65' for E573
Yeh, maybe the dwarf at the down end, but I think the dwarf at the up end
will stay, as they use this to shunt a suburban train from No.2 platform
to siding 'B', but then they could just to a direct arrival into no.1
platform. But I think the plan is for suburban trains to use platform
no.2 and country trains to use platform no.1
Maybe the dwarf from the Up Albion Line will go.

: Knowing the abolitionists out there, I wouldn't be surprised if they
: go.

They are not wired, and hardly used, but I have been told they will stay.
The only track changes was the new high speed crossover at the up end and
changing the crossover at the down end to high speed.
