What the press release at http://www.cityrail.nsw.gov.au/Media/index.htm
says is ...
"CityRail trains will operate all night but there will be no access to ten
stations between 11:45pm and 1:15am. These stations are: Town Hall, Wynyard,
St James, Museum, Martin Place, Kings Cross, Edgecliff, Bondi Junction,
Milsons Point and North Sydney. The Illawarra line platforms at Redfern and
Central Station heading towards the City and Bondi Junction will also be
closed during this period.
"Central Station will remain open for all suburban services and will be the
main departure point for passengers wishing to leave the CBD between 11:45pm
and 1:15am. Intercity services and trains on the Main North, North Shore,
South, Illawarra and Western lines will depart regularly from Central
Station.

This suggests trains running non-stop between Waverton and Central rather
than terminating anywhere.
