Well, as the person who started off the creation of both 'aus.rail' and
'aus.rail.models', I tend to disagree! 8-)

However it could probably fair to say that there are more Victorian rail
enthusiasts posting in 'aus.rail' simply because more of them have access to
computers... Or because there is a slight difference in railfan culture in
Victoria. I'm not really sure.

The predominance of NSW content in 'aus.rail.models' is simply because NSW
prototype modelling is the most popular, at least IMHO.
