Re: Melbourne Double deckers



I remember in the late 70s/early 80s (pre-loop) there were a few 8 car taits
in peak hour on the Belgrave & Lilydale lines.

An 8 car set had seating capacity for about 720 - a lot better than the 480
or so that can be seated in a Hitachi or Comeng.  More doors, so faster
loading.  And great fun to hang out the doors on a hot summer's day!
