Re: Melton - Bacchus Marsh close revisited.
Chris Brownbill gave the number of trains using this section on 10
May.
The public handout shows the following
Down Up
M-F 25 30
Sat 20 21
Sun 15 17
This compares with the Dec 1998 NSP:
Down Up
M-F 21 22
Sat 8 9
Sun 6 6
Obviously (probably?) there must be balancing empty movements on the
Down, or do some trains run coupled on the Down?
In addition, comparison of the up and down tables shows 8 Up trains
departing Melton in the morning before any Down train arrives. Unless
the trains are being stored on the Melton-Parwan section overnight,
there must be even more empty movements to put them there.
Does anybody have any "WTT" or "S" document showing these movements,
or don't such things exist anymore?
