Why would they terminate there? One intention of the new route is to
provide direct services into the city from the west and north by using
the under-capacity north shore line in lieu of the allegedly at-capacity
lines between Redfern and Lidcombe. This is supposed to provide more
efficient track utilisation overall and to provide extra paths for
trains which cannot currently be provided from places like Liverpool.
