Les,
just talked to a retired friend and mentor, who has graced the heights of
Australian Business, with a smattering of Politics.
He laughed at our postings, and his comment " As my young Grandson oft'
says....sucked in! You can't continue these emotive arguments, you cant win
even should you want to. Even Prime Ministers won't go near any such
argument, no matter how obviously they are distorted....Your truth and his,
are worlds apart, there can be little credibility against "the" overwhelming
atrocity [against the Jews].......... " and he went on, and we both hungered
to understand why Irish Christians kill each other! Arabs and Israeli taunt
each other! Central Europeans destroy each other! Chinese dehumanise their
own people!
And we lucky ones in Australia, can't accept how good it is, because we have
to worry about what all the others are going to do, and if we will be able
to survive  it.
And so I surrender !
