I'm not sure about the SLR. I was not given the opportunity to inspect the
drivers cab when I last rode it. It is, however, almost identical to the
system used on the Westrail/Transperth EMU's although they call it ATP.
Actually, ATP is the correct term.

With the QR ATC system, the driver is required to enter a set of figures
into the ATC console before the journey commences. The figures are included
on the bottom of the train sheet and tells the computer the length, weight
and maximum permissible speed of the train. A bank of thumbwheels are used
to enter the information.

The only difference between this and the Westrail system is that all
thumbwheels are replaced with a single two position toggle switch labelled 2
car/4car. Other than that, the two systems are identical.
