Exactly the reason that has been discussed on this ng. - They want you to
have reliable transport (i.e. a car), so as to get to & from work in the
hours that trains do not run.
I have considered re-applying during this "round" of staff intake,
borrowing my mum's car before my loan application for my own car comes
through.

PS Decided against re-applying, I wouldn't be able to continue my
schooling, and I only have 8 months left of my course here at RMIT.
