The question was delibertly leading, as obviously there is no one
straight answer, which for comparison reasons I gave exact airports
which mimicked my experiance a few weeks ago. For example it took me
over five 1/2 hours to get from my hotel near Gare St Lazaire in Paris
to near Victoria in London (admitingly I used the bus in London which
took 1 1/2 hours from LHR!! to Victoria). Now using Heathrow express
and a taxi that time would be closer to 4 1/2. These times don't
include the saftey marjons required for the road transport, so an
extra 30 minutes is not unreasonable either.

As for Eurostar assuming 15 minutes taxi to Gare Du Nord, 30 minute
before departure check-in, 3 hour trip and 15 minute taxi in London
that comes to around 4 hours, or a little extra allowing for saftey.

Interesting to note Qantas are marketing the eurostar. As when I was
there last month, my ticket to Paris included the flight to London and
return to Australia regardless of I used it or not. My preference
would have been eurostar, but for $0 the flight was the clear winner.
