Re: Victorian numbering (was: [VIC] S301 back in service?)



Some times they did sometimes they didn't.Probably depended who was the
chief pen pusher at the time and how badly he wanted to make life hard for
his minions.
For instance:last steam Y class ended up with 100 series numbers,likewise Y
class diesel's.
However H220 bears no connection with H1-5 diesel's.
Then again Mikado X class 27-55 does have a passing resemblance to 1st and
2nd series X class diesel's. So yes and no <g!>
